Public Art

The majority of Furchgott's public art is site specific, commissioned and created for a chosen space in a particular community. She usually works closely with a committee from the community to ensure that the finished work reflects their needs and desires and a unique sense of who they are: A work such as the Kelso mural reflects pride in the community. Those intended for schools and children are more playful, and several works created for hospital settings celebrate life and give hope to those in pain. The majority of Furchgott's public works are interior wall murals, but she has also completed two large scale mobiles fabricated from aluminum and steel painted with acrylics.
